Preliminary Course Lengths for Different Categories Published

The WOC Tour organizers of the upcoming competition have announced the preliminary course lengths for all categories. The lengths have been tailored to meet the requirements of each category, offering a challenge for every participant.

Preliminary Course Lengths by Category for Middle distance competitions
Long-distance courses are 1.5 times longer than middle-distance courses. Sprint competitions take 12 to 15 minutes per course.

The course lengths are still subject to slight adjustments before final confirmation, as terrain inspections and final planning are ongoing. The aim is to ensure that the courses are both technically and physically appropriate for each age and skill level.

Comment from the coordinator
“The terrain offers a wide range of challenges, and we’ve aimed to make the most of its features. Our goal is to create courses that thoroughly test both the orienteering skills and endurance of the participants,” says Kari Heinonen, who is coordinating the course setting.

The final course lengths will be published in the competition instructions in summer 2025.
