The World Orienteering Championships hold a special significance for the competitors, enthusiasts, and fans of any sport. The WOC will be held in Kuopio in July 2025. This competition is particularly important for the Finnish orienteering community for several reasons. There is a great deal of trust in Finnish organizational expertise. The last time the World Orienteering Championships were held in Finland was in 2013 in Vuokatti. Now it is time to experience new exhilarating moments.
The public competition and open categories during the Orienteering Week offer the opportunity to experience the same terrains and atmosphere as the top orienteers in the World Championships. The program includes a sprint, a long-distance race, three middle-distance races, and open courses for fitness orienteers. The event’s central location will be the Tahko Tourist Center. Tahko provides excellent facilities for the event village, with plenty of accommodation options, attractions, and summer activities. Our goal is to offer audience-friendly events for both the participants of Orienteering Week and the spectators of the World Championships. As the preparations progress, it has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the organizing volunteers to ensure a great event week for you.
