WOC 2025 preparations well on the way – a briefing of the event took place on Feb 19 in Kuopio.

A press conference was held to discuss the progress of the event. The preparations are progressing well, and the pace is accelerating as we get closer to the competition. The opening speech at the event was delivered by Hanna Väätäinen, the vice president of the organizing club Kuopion Suunnistajat. During the event, the new WOC event director, Jari Kymäläinen, introduced himself. Additionally, we received greetings from Mika Ilomäki, the CEO of the Finnish Orienteering Federation. At the event, the audience was presented with the organization’s structure, schedules, and activities from the perspective of volunteer work.
